Ensure economic growth through planned development of the urban settlements i.e. preparation of Master Plans, Town Planning Schemes and Infrastructure projects.

Vision

Creation of liveable urban habitat and plan for sustainable development of cities and towns.

Objectives:

• Preparation of Master Plans and urban development documents.
• Framing Policy documents to be implemented by local authorities.
• Fulfilling the mandate assigned under the Jammu and Kashmir Town Planning Gazetted Service.
• Following provisions of J&K Town Planning Act- 1963, J&K Development Act- 1970, J&K Town Planning Rules – 1973, J&K Development Rules - 1976, Municipal Corporation Act 2000, Municipal Act – 2000 and other rules and codes applicable within the UT.
